On Monday, the Algerian Red Crescent Society (ARC), on the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent 100 tonnes of humanitarian aid consisting of food and medicines to Libya.

The launch of this third solidarity aid for the benefit of the Libyan people living in the border region of Ghadames was given from the Office of the Mohamed-Boudiaf Olympic Complex (Algiers) by the president of the ARC, Saïda Benhabiles.

On this occasion, Mrs. Benhabiles specified that the aid, consisting of food, mineral water, medicines, diapers and generators granted by the Algerian Government to the Libyan people, will be transported via a military airlift from Boufarik airport, where three (3) cargo planes have been mobilized by the command of the National People's Army (ANP), to In Amenas.

The Algerian Red Crescent Society, which has been entrusted by the government to take charge of this humanitarian operation, will then deliver the aid to the Ghadames border post in coordination with the Libyan Red Crescent Society, with which the ARC is bound by a partnership and cooperation agreement, Ms. Benhabiles added.
