Health care : Ould Abbes urges Vaccine Exchange

The minister of health population and hospital reform M. Djamel Abbes has urged the exchange of the Algerian vaccine stock against flue HINI  of 4.5 mln doses for vaccine for children. On his part, the GSK laboratory (Glxo Klein Smith), supplier of the HINI vaccine to Algeria, has proposed to exchange the stock of 4.5 mln doses of this vaccine which came at expiration by March 2011, against uterus cancer vaccine . M. Ouled Abbes who has received the delegation of this laboratory has declined the offer of uterus cancer vaccine , following the controversial comment over its efficiency, expressing by the same Algerian sanitary preference for child vaccine. The birth rate in Algeria is in high, including an increase of medicine need , said he “We went from 630.000 births per year to 840.000 between 2008 and 2010” in indicated . The minister has indicated on the sideline of this meeting that a stock of 537.000 vaccine doses of A/HINI, are at expiration by October 2010.
