Algerian diplomacy "was not absent" in the Libyan crisis," it acted, rather, to the extent of its means," Secretary General of the National Democratic Rally (RND), Ahmed Ouyahia said Friday in Algiers. Speaking at a press briefing held at the end of the 4th Ordinary Session of the National Council of RND, Ouyahia highlighted the African Union (AU) role in the crisis in Libya, noting that Algeria is an actor of this continental organization. He recalled, in this context that Algeria was present at the AU meeting in Addis Ababa on Libya, while noting that the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) is "paralyzed" because of the situation in Libya, a country currently holding the presidency of AMU.
