President of the Algerian Cycling Federation (ACF) Rachid Fezouine said Saturday in Algiers that the Tour of Algeria scheduled for June 27 to July 2 will be an opportunity to enhance Algeria image and promote the cultural characteristics of the country. However, the system adopted for this round will include only a portion of western Algeria, where the riders will start in Algiers to Ain Defla, Chlef, before passing through, Relizane, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Khemis Miliana, Chréa, Blida, over a distance of nearly 1,200 km. The organizers, who expect the success of this event, feel that the tour of Algeria will take the coming seasons with an international dimension with the finalization of the East-West highway.
