Tlemcen, capital of Islamic culture" 2011 event’s national phase has been inaugurated Tuesday in a festive atmosphere celebrating the Mawlid ennabaoui. The inauguration ceremony, attended by Culture Minister Khalida Toumi and several artists and men of culture has been marked by the organization of the traditional popular procession celebrating the Mawlid ennabaoui, in which took place companies of "Aissaoua" from Tlemcen, Annaba et Constantine, "Sidi Bilal" from Sidi Bel-Abbes and Saida and "diwan Dzair", "Manara" from Miliana and Cherchell. This procession, which went across the main streets of downtown Tlemcen singing chants and songs associated with this religious day has created an exceptional animation, warmly welcomed by the population recalling the prestigious people's procession, organized on the eve of Mawlid Nabawi in Tlemcen until the mausoleum of Sidi Boumediene" in El Eubbad.
