Algeria's national football team drew with host Sudan 0-0, ensuring a the quarter final ticket in the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2011). Sudan had already been qualified for the quarter final following its victory against Uganda (1-0) on the second day of the group stage (February 8), while Gabon and Uganda are out. Algerian team managed to snatch the point they needed to qualify in a difficult match against a well-organized Sudanese team, supported by a stadium full of fans. "Our priority was to win and qualify for the second round. It was not an easy task against a team already qualified. We wanted to score but we feared to concede a goal," national coach Abdelhak Benchikha said at the end of the game.
