The fifth edition of the international festival of Andalusian and ancient music kicked off Tuesday evening at Ibn Zaydoun Hall (Riad El Fath, Algiers), with the participation of many foreign artists from Tunisia, Morocco, Syria, India, China, Spain, Italy and Portugal. The opening ceremony was marked by the presence of Culture Minister Khalida Toumi and Minister for Scientific Research Souad Bendjaballah, as well as several intellectual personalities, artists and journalists. On this occasion, Toumi underlined that the main objective of this cultural event is to enhance and promote Andalusian music, and reminded of the existence of the six festivals of Andalusian music in Algeria, especially in Tlemcen, Constantine, Kolea and Blida.
