The restoration operations launched at different historical sites in "Agadir" (Tlemcen, 540-km west of Algiers) have given new lease of life to this ancient city, which is now ready to host the major international event "Tlemcen, 2011 Capital of Islamic Culture." The operations carried out since few months in "Agadir" targeted mainly sites hidden amid dwellings, or in an advanced state of deterioration, said the Director of Archaeological Heritage of Tlemcen.
