In the framework of annual hearing sessions, involving different ministerial departments, the president of the republic M. Abdelaziz Bouteflika has presided over a restricted evaluation meeting of agriculture and rural development department. The report made by the agriculture, and rural development minister has dealt with results concluded by his sector for the year 2009, previsions for 2010 and assessment of actions, achievements foreseen in the frame of the five year plan 2010-2014. As regard the implementation of different programs of the agriculture and rural renewal policy for the year 2009, the evaluation came out with the following results : - An important growth, notably in cereals and potatoes crops -1330 proximity projects of rural integrated development have been launched in 1481 localities in the frame of sustainable development . It has also contributed to the launching of mechanical industry through the production of harvesting machines and tractors, as well as chemical industry for the production of fertilizers so to face growing demand., and the creation of more than 240.000 equivalent permanent jobs for the current of the year 2009. These results have been followed by the setting of battery of institutional measure dealing with –The financing system that have result to – The Badr support for big investments of the sector (Fixing of silos, mechanization, storage areas, irrigating equipments, greenhouse material). After listening the agriculture general assessment, the president of the Republic has disclosed efforts made in direction of modernization and development of agricultural branches of large consumption, financing and modernization of agricultural insurances” as well as measures to reinforce human capacities and technical assistance , notably the opening of the agricultural sector to university capacities and national competencies. These efforts, the president added, have enabled to reach “ a noticeable growth rate of the agricultural production, a better coverage of agricultural potentials through national production and a significant fall of food bill . Tackling the implementation of the agricultural real estate in terms of means of exploitation, the Head of state has charge the government to speed up the finalization of the application texts so to secure agricultural worker, and gather preservation conditions for the real estate patrimony. On the other hand, the Head of state has instructed the government to watch out the continuation of the agricultural supportive program up to 200 Bln /da per year. The head of state has, called upon the mobilization of agriculture worker, and economic operators so to complete the success of the implementation of the five-year plan and take up the challenge of food security, which stands as an unshakable trend of the national sovereignty
