In the frame of annual hearings of different ministerial departments, President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has presided on August 29th over a restricted evaluation meeting of trade department. During the hearing session, the trade minister has made an assessment on measures engaged by trade ministry regarding market monitoring, commercial practices and concurrence as well as prices control and fraud repression. The minister has insisted upon deepening regulation and organization tool aiming at preserving the purchasing power , the protection national economy as well and the consumer by the elaboration of an appropriate rule so to take into account the evolution recorded within the society and the economy. In this context, the legislation related to the implementing rules in concurrence and commercial practices, was amended. In the frame of organization, commercial activities and consumer protection, it has been preceded to the promulgation of texts related to regulation policy for setting commercial equipments in conformity with products and the consumer information. As for the State supportive Purchasing power , it’s worth noting that the reimbursing system of transports fees in ten wilayas in the southern part of the country enable populations to gain products at the same prices that those practiced in the North. On the other hand, a joint coordinating structure tra-agriculture was set so to watch market surveillance and control, notably during this sacred month of Ramadhan. The law related to the consumer protection and fraud repression, promulgated in 2009, has reinforced protection measures of health and security of consumers. Results recorded during 2009 in the frame of commercial control, have led to more than 320000 interventions and 164.000 others in the first -6 month period. The Head of state has intervened in the end of the meeting, recalling that the “reinforcement of the control tool must remain a priority for the government which is due to mobilize all means in direction of bettering goods quality and services in the market, through an efficient struggle against phenomenon of fraud and counterfeiting and disloyal practices. The Head of State has particularly insisted on the necessity to intensify action so to preserve citizens health, notably by involving professional associations and consumers.
