Foreign trade : Vehicles Bill Bounces Back

Vehicle import bill has bounced back in Jully to compare with the same period of last year. Foodstuffs bill has remained stable according to figures by the CNIS.

Vehicle import bill has bounced back in Jully to compare with the same period of last year. Foodstuffs bill has remained stable according to figures by the CNIS. The import bill of tourism vehicles has raised in July 2010 to 149 mln/dlrs against 137 mln/dlrs in July 2009, I,e an increase of 8.76% indicates report by customs desk. If all alimentary goods remain stable, stepping back only by 0.44% to 451 mln/dlrs, against 453 mln/dlrs, important augmentation are however noticed in some consumption products like sugar, milk, and dry vegetables. Indeed, sugar bill has increased in July by 170% to 54 mln/dlrs against 20 mln/dlrs , milk and other milk products have increased by 66.67% to 85 mln/dlrs against dry vegetables by 12.5% to 9 mln/dlrs against 8 mln/dlrs in July in 2009. The cereals bill, semolina and flour has in contrary stepped back in July to 149 mln/dlrs against 211 mln/dlrs  I,e a loss of 29.38%. This decrease has also hit meat market whose importation has lowered by half to 11 mln/dlrs in July 2010 against 22mln/dlrs in July 2009. The same low tendency has been noticed for drugs imports which have recorded a step back by 1664% to 124 mln/dlrs against 149 mln.
