Western Sahara: Messahel holds talks with Minurso's chief
Minister for Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel has held talks Thursday here with Hany Abdelaziz, the special representative of the United Nations secretary general and the head of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (Minurso).
In a statement to the press in the wake of the meeting, Messahel said that they talked about the role of the Minurso in handling a large part of the Western Sahara.
On this occasion, the minister reminded of the UN position regarding the issue, pointing out that the solution is in the hands of this organization, and the Western Sahara is a non-autonomous territory as defined by the UN Security Council's resolutions.
