Ban Ki-moon reiterates UN support for peace in Africa
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon reiterated Sunday in Addis-Ababa the international organization's support to the efforts made by the African Union (AU) to restore peace and security in Africa. In an opening address at the 14th AU Heads of State and Government Summit, Ban Ki-moon expressed, "without reservations," UN backing to the efforts aiming at settling the crises and conflicts the continent is facing. "We have shared challenges and concerns," said UN Secretary-General, adding that "Africa's future is among the United Nations' concerns."
