Legal framework for cultural heritage protection
Algeria "has finalized the legal framework for the protection and development of the national cultural heritage," Culture Minister Khalida Toumi announced Monday here, adding that this is part of the development plan of the archaeological and historic sites by the year 2025.
In her opening address at the regional meeting for the submission of the periodical reports for the region of the Arab States, Toumi said that "through the archaeological and historic sites development plan, the Algerian State aims first at enhancing its strategy for the national heritage protection, and then preparing for the world heritage nomination process."
