Tribute to director Ahmed Rachedi at Cairo international film festival
A tribute was paid Tuesday to Algerian filmmaker Ahmed Rachedi at the opening ceremony of the 33rd Cairo international film festival. The homage shows "consideration" for Algerian film industry, Ahmed Rachedi told APS, stressing that such events provide an opportunity to "assess" Algerian films. For Ahmed Rachedi, the festival constitutes an opportunity to make known Algerian film industry, honoured at the festival through the screening of a number of Algerian films and the presence of Algerian film directors in the panel of judges.
Algerian cinema has the particularity of being a thematic cinema, which offered some productions that enable it to earn a world-wide reputation and win several awards," the Algerian film-director said.
