African leaders recommend ICT integration into national program
The works of the 14th African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government Summit resumed Monday morning in Addis Ababa behind closed doors, and are devoted to the examination of AU commissions' reports.
The documents to be considered include the council for peace and security's report on the actions and situation of peace and security in Africa, the report of the commission on unconstitutional change of governments and the report of the chairman of the committee for NEPAD (New Partnership for Africa's Development) implementation.
The participants held on the first day a general debate on the summit's theme, namely "Information and Communication Technologies in Africa: Development Challenges and Prospects." The African leaders have voiced support for integration of ICT policies in the other sectors at the national, regional and continental levels.
