Facing up with the falling oil prices
Algeria’s challenge this year is to face up the falling oil prices, says the finance minister Karim Djoudi today in a statement delivered on his behalf in a finance seminar held in Algiers.
Djoudi highlighted the priorities of the country in the upcoming period. The government is committed in this connection to diversify economy, modernize agriculture and rehabilitate production means.
Also, reducing unemployment and improving attractiveness as well as pursuing the modernization of the financial sector are high on the Government’s agenda, according to finance minister.
Regarding the macroeconomic indicators, the minister predicts inflation to shrink to 3,5 percent however he expects GDP to rise to 4,1 percent globally and to 6,6 percent out of the hydrocarbon sector. This growth is mainly driven by construction and public work sectors as well as services.
